The Most Anticipated Video games coming 2023

This next year is filled with some exciting titles to look forward to, whether we end up disappointed or not is yet to be seen. Furthermore, a couple of these games have not had an official release date, instead we only get a general idea of them. However, as we get further into the year we’ll be updating the page with official release dates as they come. Below we have what I believe to be some of the most anticipated video games to release in 2023.


Deadspace Remake

PC, Xbox one, Series X/S, PS4, PS5

The dead space remake is one that I’m sure many are excited to play, especially after the Callisto incident. Being such a beloved classic, many fans will enjoy seeing this in stunning graphics. However, with the prices being raised to $70 now many might find it better to wait for a sale. Though, if you happen to have the EA play service you can get a partial 10% discount. Release date is January 28.

Forspoken

Platforms:

PC, PS4, PS5

Forspoken is square enix’s first entry of 2023, while also being a console exclusive for PS5 till 2025. The game is an open world game with a magic combat system that aims for versatility. The magic system is also involved with the movement, bringing a magic parkour style into play.

Wild Hearts

Platforms:

PC, Xbox one, Series X/S, PS4, PS5

Wild Hearts is an upcoming action RPG from EA that resembles the Monster Hunter style of genre. Although its developers don’t seem to be intimidated from the comparisons to the series, its yet to be seen if it can live up to those expectations. Either way we’ll be able to see for ourselves come February 16.

Hogwarts Legacy

PC, Xbox one, Series X/S, PS4, PS5

Everyone who’s once dreamt of becoming apart of the world of wizardry from harry potter will be able to here in Hogwarts Legacy. The game is expected to give players the option to change their own fate, whether it be good or bad. This morality system is a cool feature which can lead to different endings with the story. Additionally, after being promoted as an open-world game, Hogwarts Legacy has been shaping up to be something special.

Atomic Heart

PC, Xbox one, Series X/S, PS4, PS5

Atomic heart has seen a lot of drama with its development team recently which has left many skeptical of the game. However, its still worth waiting to see if the game can prove itself to be good. In case you happen to have the Xbox or PC Game Pass, you’ll be lucky enough to get the game for free day 1. Release is February 21.

Wo long: Fallen Dynasty

PC, Xbox one, Series X/S, PS4, PS5

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty has been one of many victims to delays from this year, though we might finally play it soon. The game uses a gameplay style that adds the freedom to mix match spells, as well as using them in combos and parries. Along with the addition of martial arts, the game differentiates from the simple move sets you see in soulsborne games. Release is expected to be March 3.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

Next year we get a remake of one resident evil’s fans favorite classics, Resident Evil 4. The remake will be changing a few things that will help make the experience more enjoyable for the new gen of consoles. Although some are understandable, others may leave fans worried for what else they may change. Release is expected March 24

Dead Island 2

PC, Xbox one, Series X/S, PS4, PS5

Dead Island 2 is also another victim of the delays we had this year, except many are worried this might turn out to be a Cyberpunk 2.0. After so much time since the last installment, having this bomb would be detrimental for the series. Though its best to be optimistic till its release this April 28.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Nintendo Switch

Nintendo has been pressured into delivering a Zelda sequel worthy of goty, after the success Elden Ring had this year. Bringing us back to the open world of Hyrule from the last game, we’ll be able to explore even more along with the islands in the skies. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom releases May 12.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

PC, Xbox one, Series X/S, PS4, PS5

Coming from the studio who brought us the classic Batman Arkham series, Rocksteady delivers us a suicide squad game with an exciting plot. After the Justice League gets brainwashed by Brainiac, Amanda Waller sends the justice league to stop the invasion of Brainiac and kill the League. The game has a release date for this May 26.

Sons of the forest

Platforms:

PC

Sequel to The Forest, the game will be continuing the survival horror style by keeping what the first one did so well. This means expanding the crafting, cooking and combat systems to help against the cannibal mutants. The story here makes the first canon introducing us to an older Timmy who is struggling to suppress his mutation. Its release is February 23.

Assassins Creed: Mirage

The assassins creed series has been in a weird direction with its past few games. However, with Assassins Creed: Mirage Ubisoft hopes to bring fans back to the roots of the franchise. The game will take place in Baghdad during the medieval times, which will feature the levantine brotherhood unified at their peak. It has been reported to release in August.

Lies of P

Platforms:

PC, Xbox one, Series X/S, PS4, PS5

Lies of P is a game with a soulsborne like gameplay, as well as an interesting take on the story of Pinocchio. Set in a dark 19th century, you must guide Pinocchio on his journey into becoming human. Also for those who were fans of the style that bloodborne took on the world, you’ll be able to find a similar take but more mechanical. Lies of P is supposed to release sometime 2023.

Hollow Knight Silksong

PC, Xbox one, Series X/S, PS4, PS5

A sequel to the fan favorite hollow knight game, Hollow Knight Silksong is on the way to make its running for the best indie goty. By continuing the epic action-adventure following our protagonist Hornet, we delve into more levels of enemies. Similar to its predecessor, the game is also expected to be available day one on Game Pass. Release date is reported to being before June 2023.

Starfield

Platforms:

PC, Xbox one, Series X/S, PS4, PS5

Bethesda’s return is coming soon with Starfield, after the bad reception fallout 76 got this game is more important than ever. Though not much official gameplay has been revealed yet, which is a bit concerning since its release is due for this year. Even so, if you’re apart of the Xbox or PC Game Pass you won’t have to worry about wasting money as it’ll be available there day 1. Release date is still only confirmed for the first half of 2023.

Redfall

Platforms:

PC, Xbox one, Series X/S, PS4, PS5

An open-world co-op fps game, Redfall pits players against vampires who have blocked out the sun and cut citizens of the island town Redfall, Massachusetts from the outside world. As well as coming from the award winning team behind Prey and Dishonored, has brought the expectations high for this one. Release date is in the first half of 2023.

Spider-Man 2

Platforms:

PC, PS4, PS5

Spider-Man 2 is by far PlayStations most anticipated game of the year continuing the story from the miles Morales game. Getting to play as both spideys seems to be expected here, though its still unknown how they’ll handle that. In addition to this, we’ve been teased through the last games and trailers of some fan favorite villains. These include venom, sandman, wraith, the lizard, and the king pin as well. Release is set for fall 2023.
